The Glossy Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami) is in decline and is considered one of Australia’s rarest cockatoos. There are three recognised subspecies of Glossy Black Cockatoo found across diverse regions along the East Coast of Australia, They typically inhabit open forests and woodland environments.

Also featured within the artwork are the following species: Wallum Banksia, Fuchsia Heath, Grey Spider Flower and the Pouched Coral Fern.

The original artwork was created by Justin Paolucci using pigment ink, fine-liner, watercolour and coloured pencil, and is now available as a museum-quality archival reproduction prints.
